Yes, we are Radical Service — one of the shops you can find in these results. That is why we name no one and do not tell you whom to avoid. We show you the types of shops, how to recognize them, and give you the tools to verify for yourself — including one you already carry in your pocket: your iPhone tells you which part is inside it. Where it is our opinion, we say so.
In short: how to choose in 30 seconds
Under warranty or with AppleCare+
→ Apple or an authorized partner. 100%, so you don’t void the warranty.
Out of warranty, you want a genuine part, on the spot
→ An independent shop that tells you in writing which part it fits and lets you verify afterwards, from iOS. If it dodges the question “is it genuine?”, that is your answer.
Older phone or a tight budget
→ Premium aftermarket is a rational choice — but named as such, with its own price and a written warranty, not sold as “genuine”.
You want to avoid the traps
→ “Genuine battery” for a model Apple no longer makes batteries for, “genuine screen” at an aftermarket price, “lifetime” warranty, a kiosk with no company behind it. You can spot them in 2 minutes — below.
What you actually find in the results
Search for iPhone repair in Bucharest and Google gives you a mix of the official channel, large specialized shops, neighbourhood shops, a Reddit thread and classified ads. You don’t need to know each name — you need to recognize the type, because each type comes with a different trade-off: time, price, or the truth about the part.
Apple and authorized partners
The first stop if you are under warranty or have AppleCare+ — any other route can void it. Parts are genuine, the procedure is Apple’s. The trade-off is time: from experiences people have published on Reddit, a battery replacement at an authorized partner in Bucharest meant leaving the phone for 10–20 days, or paying an extra urgency fee to have it done within hours. That is not a criticism — it is their model, and for a phone under warranty it is worth it.

The large iPhone-specialized shops
Well-known names, years in business, thousands of reviews and several locations across the city. The volume is real and many people leave happy. The public threads also show the other side: opinions are split, especially on communication and on the answer to “is the part genuine?”. When a company has several locations, quality depends a lot on the location and on who is on shift. The rule: the same checks as for anyone else, however well known the name.
Neighbourhood and mall phone shops
They repair any phone, they are close to home and often open until late — for many people the most convenient option. There are very good technicians among them; one in the thread below told the customer honestly that he could not source a genuine battery and fitted a good aftermarket one, and the customer is still happy a year later. That is exactly the difference: the aftermarket part is not the problem — the aftermarket part sold as genuine is. In a multi-brand shop, ask explicitly and get the answer on the quote.
The community (Reddit)
The r/bucuresti threads rank high on Google and are worth more than any advertising — including this guide. In a recent thread about replacing an iPhone battery (in Romanian), you will find recommendations for us, for the large shops, for authorized providers and for a phone shop in Militari — with good and bad experiences at each. What repeats in the positive comments, whichever shop, is the same list: done on the spot, procedure done in front of the customer, explanations about the part, and afterwards iOS confirming the part is genuine.
Read all of it, with the votes and the dates, and treat it like any source: real people, individual experiences. That is how you should treat what we write here, too.
Classifieds and “I’ll come to you”
Ads, not shops. You might land a skilled person — or anyone. Without a company, an address and an invoice with the part written on it, there is no one to go back to if the battery swells in three months. There is nothing to “choose” here; treat every ad as a stranger.
The patterns that call for caution on iPhone
These are not accusations and have no names. They are phrases you hear or read that deserve one extra question before you hand over the phone.
“Genuine battery” for any model. Apple makes service batteries only for models still supported. If you have an older iPhone and someone promises a “genuine, new Apple battery”, ask where from. The honest answer is “refurbished” or “aftermarket” — both can be fine, if named as such.
“Genuine screen” at an aftermarket price. A genuine OLED display for a recent iPhone costs what it costs. If the price is a third of the authorized channel’s, it is a different part — not necessarily bad, but you need to know. The difference shows in colours, brightness, ProMotion (on Pro models) and, on the phone, under “Parts and Service History”.
“Lifetime” or “unlimited” warranty. No part comes with that from its manufacturer. A serious warranty is written on the invoice, covers part and labour, and has a number of months.
The bait price. “From 150 lei” on the phone, then “we found something else” once the phone is already open. Get the final price in writing, with the part option, before you let go of the phone.
“I had the batteries replaced on an iPhone 14 and an iPhone 11 Pro with them. Everything went smoothly, I booked an appointment, no extra costs beyond what was agreed, and the new batteries have already improved the phones enormously. They also cleaned the charging port for free, because they noticed dirt had built up in there.”
“You won’t lose water resistance.” Any opening of an iPhone affects the factory seal. A serious shop re-applies the sealing adhesive and tells you the protection is no longer the original one. Whoever promises otherwise is promising something they cannot guarantee.
We tick one of the patterns above ourselves, in reverse: we are not the cheapest and we are not open around the clock. We work Monday to Friday, 8:30–17:30, in a single workshop in Sector 1. If you need a repair on a Sunday evening in a mall, we are not your shop — and that is fine. We say it here so you don’t find out on the phone.
iPhone parts, called by their name
This is where everything is decided, and where there is the most smoke. What follows is how we work — not as advertising, but as a concrete benchmark you can demand from anyone.
Batteries
Genuine Apple only. If there is no genuine battery for your model, we tell you and do not replace it. After fitting, iOS recognizes it as a Genuine Apple Part.
from 299 lei, fitted
Screens
Three options, each priced on the model page: Service Pack (genuine, new), genuine refurbished (an Apple display from another phone, tested) and premium aftermarket (budget, tested by us). We tell you exactly where they differ; True Tone is transferred with a programmer.

Cameras, ports, board components
Genuine only. The logic board we repair at component level — we replace the faulty chip or connector, not the whole board. That is what many shops do not do, sending the phone “for replacement” instead.
free diagnosis
What your phone sees. Since iOS 15, the iPhone checks whether the battery, display and camera are genuine Apple parts paired to it. The result is under Settings › General › About › Parts and Service History: “Genuine Apple Part” or “Unknown Part”. It is not a fault and it blocks nothing, but it is the most honest service record you can have — written by the phone, not by the salesperson. With iOS 27 things tighten further; we wrote separately about the three new lock systems and what they mean for repairs.
Warranty: 3 months, and why. On iPhone, the warranty we give is the warranty we receive from the part supplier, passed on in full, on the invoice — part and labour. On MacBook we can offer up to 12 months, because there we answer for our own component-level work. We do not inflate the iPhone figure as a sales argument; we tell you where it comes from.
More about the money, per model: how much an iPhone repair costs in Romania and why a genuine battery matters.
How to verify ANY iPhone repair shop YOURSELF
Don’t take our word for it — or anyone’s. The tools are free, and the last two are already in your phone.
Only 18% of Romanians checked, in the last 3 months, whether something they found online was true — against an EU average of 29%. And 7.5% did not check because they did not know how, the highest share in the Union.
The study is about news, but the mechanism is the same when you choose a repair shop: the first Google result is verified by no one. Source: Eurostat, isoc_sk_edic_i21, 2025
Trade Register / listafirme.ro
Look the company up by name or tax ID: founding year, employees, turnover, CAEN code. “15 years of experience” on the site, but the company dates from 2021? Clear signal. Does the mall kiosk have a company? Ask for its tax ID.
Google reviews older than 1 year
Read the old ones and the 1–2 star ones, not just the recent ones. Look for the words “genuine”, “warranty”, “second time” — that is where the truth about parts lives.
The quote, in writing, before
Model, fault, part type (genuine / refurbished / aftermarket), final price incl. VAT, warranty in months. If they won’t give it to you before you hand over the phone, don’t hand over the phone.
Apple authorization
If you want the authorized channel, check locate.apple.com. “Apple” in the company or domain name does not mean authorized.
The part, in front of you
On a 30-minute repair you can stand next to the technician. Ask to see the new part before fitting and the old one after. A shop with nothing to hide has no problem with that.
Parts and Service History, after
Settings › General › About › Parts and Service History. iOS tells you whether the battery, display or camera are a “Genuine Apple Part” or an “Unknown Part”. Check before you leave the shop.
Where we stand — honestly
We are not Apple-authorized. Under warranty or with AppleCare+, we send you to Apple — it is the right thing for you. We are also not the cheapest, not the biggest, and not open around the clock. Out of warranty, here is what we bring to the table:
20–60 min
battery, screen, port — on the spot, while you wait
genuine only
iPhone batteries; when there is none, we tell you

5★ Google reviews
logic board
repaired at component level
We have repaired Apple exclusively since 2014, since 2019 from our workshop in Sector 1, Domenii area. iPhones we repair in front of you if you want to stay: you see the part before, the phone after, and you check in iOS before you leave. What customers say about that is on our reviews page (Romanian), with a link to each Google review — and, independently of us, in the Reddit thread above.
We are, first of all, a workshop that works at component level — which is why on iPhone we also do what many shops don’t: the logic board, the soldered charging port, the phone that “won’t turn on” and gets sent “for replacement”. The rest is your call. What do you choose?
