What we did

We ran the official configuration step — the screen showed „Finish Repair” and the confirmation „This is a genuine Apple part”. Without this step, the phone would not recognize the battery.

How to check yourself, in 30 seconds, if the battery is genuine
Part status
Settings › General › About › Parts and Service History. Next to „Battery” it should read „Genuine Apple Part”. If you see „Unknown Part”, the battery is not recognized as genuine.
Battery health
Settings › Battery › Battery Health. You see Maximum Capacity and cycle count. If it shows „Unknown Part” instead of a percentage, iOS cannot verify the battery.
